A groundbreaking Chinese video game, praised as a major milestone for the country’s gaming industry, has also sparked controversy over the ongoing issue of sexism in China’s male-dominated gaming culture.

While many gamers are celebrating the success of "Black Myth: Wukong," an action-adventure game, others are raising concerns about sexism within the gaming community. Allegations have also surfaced against Game Science, the Shenzhen-based developer behind the game, accusing the company of posting offensive and inappropriate content online.

Critics shared screenshots of these posts on Weibo, a popular Chinese social media platform, with one compilation garnering over 400,000 likes. One particularly troubling post, allegedly made by Game Science’s founder, Feng Ji, used a sexual metaphor to describe the positive reactions to the game’s promotional video. Other posts included inappropriate recruiting ads, further fueling the backlash.
