As Florida deals with the aftermath of Hurricane Milton, presidential campaigning carried on in full force in key battleground states across the U.S. on Thursday.
Vice President Kamala Harris took part in a Univision town hall in Las Vegas that afternoon. Later in the evening, she headed to a rally in Phoenix, while staying in close contact with the White House to monitor federal disaster response efforts, according to her campaign team.
Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump spoke at the Economic Club of Detroit, where he criticized the federal response to Hurricane Helene, aiming to use the storm to his political advantage.
Despite the ongoing hurricane, both the Harris and Trump campaigns are carefully planning their travels to target key voting groups that could swing the election, which is expected to be extremely close.
Former President Barack Obama also joined the campaign trail on Thursday, making his first appearance in support of Harris at a rally in Pittsburgh. This marks the beginning of a series of campaign events Obama will hold on her behalf, according to the Harris campaign.
